Youth Programs
SacPD youth development and engagement programs create a positive atmosphere between police officers and the community by providing personal interaction in a learning, mentoring, and giving environment through athletic, social, and educational initiatives.
The Sacramento Police Activities League (SacPAL) is a proud member of the Sacramento Police Foundation that strives to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth in under-served communities. Our programs have at least one SacPD Officer who serves as a coach and/or mentor and helps foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. These programs provide social opportunities, develop leadership skills, and teach meaningful life lessons that prepare participants for a better, more successful future.
Other programs include a drone program, which offers local youth the opportunity to learn valuable skills and knowledge that will empower and motivate them to stay in school, continue their education, and secure good paying jobs, and a driver’s education program, which provides the training necessary for local youth to secure their driver’s licenses at no cost to these youth or their families and prevents a lack of access to transportation to being a barrier to getting a job.
